Icelandic Glacial Water – 1.5L
Icelandic Glacial Water – 1Lt x 12 Box
As one of the youngest islands on the planet, Iceland has a raw, natural beauty and a pristine ecosystem. Centuries of volcanic activity and an abundance of beautiful glaciers have left a stunning landscape unlike anywhere else in the world, and have earned the country the nickname, “Land of Fire and Ice.” Icelanders have made it a priority to preserve the unspoiled beauty of their environment which allows them to gift us with some of the cleanest, most pure water in the world.
Long before man reached the remote island of Iceland, a massive volcanic eruption occurred, creating the Ölfus Spring deep below the earth’s surface. For 5,000 years, water has filtered slowly through layers of lava rock, creating exceptionally pure and naturally alkaline water with the perfect mineral balance. Shielded by an impenetrable layer of lava rock and surrounded by a 128,000 acre exclusion zone, the Spring is constantly replenished by a gradual filtration of rainfall and snowmelt over uninhabited and untouched lava fields. With over 900,000 cubic meters of water overflowing from the Ölfus Spring into the ocean every day, it’s one of the world’s largest natural springs.
Icelandic Glacial™ takes immense pride in running a completely sustainable operation fueled entirely by geothermal and hydroelectric power. At 7,688 sq. ft., the world class facility is one of the world’s greenest and cleanest. Fully automated and hands-free, the facility is capable of producing up to 30,000 bottles per hour. The filling process takes place in a clean room environment held to the highest laboratory standards. The water for Icelandic Glacial™ travels directly from the underground spring into the bottling facility, which maintains a positive air pressure to impede the outside air. The first time Icelandic Glacial™ encounters the open air is when the bottle seal is broken. Nothing is ever added or taken away.
Filtered slowly for 5,000 years through layers of lava rock, Icelandic Glacial™ possesses a highly desirable and uncommonly high pH of 8.4, making it naturally alkaline.
Icelandic Glacial™ is sourced from the legendary Ölfus Spring in Iceland, one of the world’s most pristine ecosystems. It possesses a naturally low mineral content (TDS of 62 ppm) that does not crowd the palate with heavy metals, minerals or silica. A water so pure, nothing is added or taken away.
Icelandic Glacial™ was the world’s first bottled water to be certified as CarbonNeutral® for both product and operation. Icelandic Glacial takes immense pride in running a completely sustainable operation fueled entirely by geothermal and hydroelectric power. At 7,688 sq. ft., the world class facility is one of the world’s greenest and cleanest. In a commitment to reach a target of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, Icelandic Glacial™ measures and reduces emissions through a combination of internal reductions and environmental instruments on an ongoing basis. To offset any remaining emissions, Icelandic Glacial™ invests in verified renewable energy, forestry and resource conservation projects around the world. Our efforts have been rewarded with international recognition, most notably winning the 2007 Bottled Water World Design Awards for Best Sustainability Initiative.
The signature sculpted, glacier-inspired bottle neck, featuring four profiles, reinforces the water’s heritage and premium position. It was named “Best Overall Concept and Best Label” at the Bottled Water World Design Awards.
Our high-grade rPET bottles are BPA-free. The bottles, labels, caps and cardboard packing are 100% recyclable.
Testing is continually conducted to ensure Icelandic Glacial™ Water meets top food safety and quality standards. Our facilities and products are fully accredited by the NSF and always meet or exceed U.S.A. Food & Drug Administration and World Health Organization requirements. Both the Ölfus Spring source and our facility are also regularly inspected by the Icelandic Public Health Authority, which carries out stringent tests to ensure the facility is operating in compliance with WHO standards. In addition to governmental requirements, Icelandic Glacial™ carries out extensive daily testing with its own in-house laboratory.
